Description
The ICY BOX IB-RD3640SU3 is a four-bay external RAID enclosure for storing and managing large volumes of data with up to four 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. It suits PC and Mac users working with backups, company files, audio, video or other data that benefits from a configurable multi-drive setup.
Connect the enclosure to a computer through USB 3.0 or eSATA. The supported RAID modes are RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 3, RAID 5, RAID 10 and Single, allowing the drives to be configured as a combined array or accessed individually.
Each hard drive can be installed in the trayless aluminium enclosure without tools. Plug and Play operation and Hot Swap support make drive replacement simpler, while the temperature-controlled fan helps maintain airflow with less operating noise. The enclosure also supports a synchronised standby mode to reduce energy use when the connected system is idle. Status LEDs show connections, drive activity, interface use and fan information.
The package includes the external power supply and cable, USB cable, eSATA cable, four handles, screws and a quick installation guide. It is a practical choice when a single external hard drive is no longer enough for your storage setup.
